Grade - The grade given to each player is a "positional" grade based on a combination of the player's skill set and age.
Type - There are three types of Free Agents. Unrestricted (UFA), Restricted (RFA), and Exclusive Rights Free Agent (ERFA).
UFA - Unrestricted Free Agents are free to sign with any team. The player must have at least four years of experience in the NFL to be considered unrestricted.
RFA - Restricted Free Agents can look at offers from any team, but the player's former team can match the best offer and keep the player. If the former team doesn't match the offer, the player is free to sign with another team. To be restricted, the player needs less than four years of NFL experience.
ERFA - Exclusive Rights Free Agents have to accept any offer from their former team. If they don't get an offer from their former team, they are free. These players have less than three years of NFL experience.
